Networking is an ever changing business. There are very secure, and very fast, wired networks. Which consist of one or more computer behind a router. This router allows you to share an Internet connection and allows computer to communicate, sharing files and playing games together.

Then there are wireless networks, which are slower and less secure, but offer the ability to have computer communicate from distances as far as several hundred feet with any cables. Wireless and Wired networks are almost the same, except wireless is slower and has to be secured before it can be used. An unsecured wireless network will allow any Joe-shmo walking down the street with a laptop to get on your Internet connection, then you could be responsible for any illegal activity he performs. All of my wireless setup plans come with a method of encryption to keep you safe from this worry. Every computer on the wireless network need s wireless card, if you do not have one, the setup cost will cover the installation and configuration, but the card will be $25 more for a desktop, and usually a little higher for a laptop (most laptops come with wireless preinstalled).
